In 2007, carpenter David Herrle took a nice long hike on the Appalachian Trail and by the end had completely changed his perspective on life. At the time, he was working a desk job that he absolutely hated. But after getting in touch with nature, he realized he didn’t want to waste any more of his time on something he couldn’t enjoy.
So he quit his job, went back to the woods and built his dream home.
The entire project cost him only $4,000.
The petite 11×14 foot home was built in 6 weeks… Without any power tools.
He made sure to pick a spot with an amazing view.
Complete with a cozy kitchen…
And a lofty bed above.
It was the perfect spot to pop the question.
She said yes!
Herrle now works as a full time carpenter, creating more mini-homes for clients among other projects. You can find more information and photos of his craftsmanship on his Facebook.
