Young Star Wars Fan Surprised With A Prosthetic Arm From Star Wars Characters

7-year-old Liam Porter of Augusta, Georgia, was recently given a brand new arm, just like Luke Skywalker. The Star Wars superfan was born without the lower part of his left hand. With this in mind, designer John Peterson used a 3D printer to create a prosthetic that he based on the uniform worn by the Imperial Clone Troopers in the science-fiction series. Liam then received the hand for everyday use.

The prosthetic wasn’t the only special thing to happen to Liam that day. The Clone Troopers who presented Liam with his new prosthetic are members of the 501st Legion, a group of Star Wars cosplayers involved in charity work. They gave the excited boy a “Friend of the Garrison” certificate, making him part of their crew.

In the Star Wars movies, Clone Troopers are the good guys and Storm Troopers are evil. According to Liam’s mother, “He wants it made clear it is a Clone Trooper, and not a Storm Trooper arm.” What a lucky little boy!
