A hamster’s chubby cheeks just might be on par with puppies on the cuteness meter. But how do they get to be so chubby? What exactly are they hiding in there? That was a question scientists wanted to answer. They used an x-ray to find our how a hamster transports his surplus food, and the results were terrifyingly awesome.

To put things in perspective, this would be the equivalent of you stuffing several cheeseburgers, a few medium fries, and maybe even a streak dinner all in your mouth. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. I still have no idea how he’s able to stomach it.
