One look at what this mother and daughter can do and you’ll know that artistic talent runs in this family. The mother-daughter team from Australia creates eye-catching home decor designs together. Four year-old Amelia creates the designs by doodling. Then her mother Li, a designer, arranges the designs into textile patterns. They make pillows, blankets, clothing and more together.

“I might be biased,” Li explained in an article on BoredPanda, “but I always knew she had artistic flair.”
Amelia is a prolific artist, and, like moms tend to do, Li wanted to keep every single sketch. Pretty soon, though, she began to run out of room and had to think of a new way to preserve her daughter’s creations. Eventually, she decided to turn the drawings into patterns via some digital manipulation.
“I try to stay true to Amelia’s original drawing as much as possible, such as the strokes and her color selections,” she says. Li rearranges some of the elements, adds in more colors, and reworks the original composition. She transforms it into a pattern that can be repeated over a surface, such as on a fabric. And Amelia thinks it’s great.

The dream now is to create a label where the mother-daughter designs will be used to create children’s apparel and home decor. The label, Born to Create, is still in the works right now, but we’re looking forward to their creations!
