This Is Quite Possibly The Coolest Radio Station In The World. Literally.

Hidden away in the Himalayas is a structure that is remote, beautiful and…playing today’s greatest hits.

Mustang Radio Community is an FM radio station broadcasting 9,000 feet above sea level in Nepal’s Himalayan Mountains. What makes this radio station special is not just its location, but the studio itself. Designed by Kim In-cheurl of the design group Archium, this station looks more like a Bond villain’s secret hideout than a community radio station. If this were any more beautiful, they’d have to turn it into a television station so as not to waste an opportunity to share its amazing views.

This radio station has a face for TV, that’s for sure.

With views like that, how could you not be interested in being a part of this?

An overview of the Mustang Broadcasting Community.

Looks like someone’s on the air.

Speaking of air, you have to wonder how people can find the strength to talk for hours in that thin mountain air.

Beautiful.

The architect did a great job of utilizing the natural light they have access to.

Who needs those annoying florescent lights when you can have the greatest light of all?

Just in case you didn’t believe what kind of terrain these people deal with.

Even the seemingly useless hallways are beautiful.

That’s one waiting room I’d like to be sitting in for hours.

Amazing.

Check out this teaser the company behind the station released to drum up interest.

I guess a studio has to be that impressive if you want people to trek up a mountain every day to get to it. It looks well worth the trip.
