This Beautiful Monument In Arizona Paid Tribute To Our Troops Like No Other

Every year, on November 11th, we set time aside to honor those who have served and protected the United States. Veteran’s Day is one of the most important days on the calendar. It’s one we shouldn’t let pass by without reflecting on the members of the Armed Services who made huge sacrifices to keep our country safe. There are many monuments honoring these brave men and women, but there is one memorial in Anthem, Arizona, that is particularly special.

The monument at the Anthem Veterans Memorial is unlike any you’ve seen before.

It’s unique design incorporates the five branches of the military with their own respective pillars placed in the order prescribed by the Department of Defense- (from right to left in picture) The Army, The Marine Corps, The Navy, The Air Force, and The Coast Guard.

But these pillars serve a different function that can only been seen every Veteran’s Day (11/11) at 11:11 a.m.

Every veteran’s day people gather at to see the awesome and ingenious tribute to the troops that occurs at the prescribed time.

The pillars are aligned so that at 11:11 a.m. every Veteran’s Day, the sun shines through each pillar and directly onto the Great Seal of the United States.

On the red brick around the sunlit Great Seal of the United States the names of 750 Armed Service members.
