Just In Time For Christmas, The CIA’s Highly Coveted Doll Can Be Yours.

If you’re wondering which overpriced plastic thing you should be spending a good chunk of your savings on for this year’s holidays, look no further than what the CIA is offering up. That’s right, you can own one of the world’s only three Osama bin Laden dolls action figures, created by the late Hasbro executive and G.I. Joe creator Donald Levine, in some bizarre attempt to prevent kids in the Middle East from joining al Qaeda.

Hey kids!

Needless to say, it didn’t go over too well. The Central Intelligence Agency isn’t really known for selling things, but I guess they needed some extra cash, and figured that since he’s dead, maybe they could part with one. The CIA and the Pentagon still own the other two, which makes you wonder if they play with them or are keeping them in their original packaging as an investment. The third doll, though, can be yours for the totally reasonable and not at all ridiculous price of $2,500

It gets better. In their attempt to influence children that al Qaeda is bad, the doll comes with an extra head, where bin Laden’s face has been painted in red and black to resemble some kind of demonic creature, as well as a regular-looking head for everyday wear. The demonic head was, one supposes, the thing that was supposed to deter the youth from joining up with terrorists, but it came out looking more like a half-baked Darth Maul cosplay. His regular head doesn’t appear too menacing, either; he looks a bit confused.

The doll is up for auction on the Nate D. Sanders auction site, and as of today, has one bid at the $2,500 level. How did they get it? Well, they can’t say, but we think a considerable number of Pokémon cards and Star Wars figurines must have been traded. And thanks to that one bid, someone’s holiday might just get a little more magical.
