Exploding Vat Of Eggnog Injures Two Laboratory Workers. What?

When you think of eggnog, you probably think of “Deck the Halls,” but for the employees of a Totowa, New Jersey pharmaceutical plant, it’s “hit the deck!” Two were injured when a vat of the rich dairy drink exploded while they were mixing artificial flavorings in an attempt to come up with a new eggnog recipe.

The blast was so powerful, the back of the building was blown out. Totowa Fire Marshall Allen Del Vecchio said that, given the severity, he was surprised more people weren’t hurt. Del Vecchio even claims to have felt the explosion from his home, which is a mile away from the plant.

The exact cause of the explosion is not yet known, but an investigation is in progress.
