This Artist Made These Portraits With Just Crayons, But Not How You Would Think.

Christian Faur recently came up with a genius way to create portraits in a unique way. He took a box of Great Depression photos for his series The Land Surveyors, and what he did with those photos was anything but conventional.

He re-created the photos by using lots and lots of crayons… but not in the way you would think.

He didn’t color the photos…

He used the individual crayons as points of color.

By standing them on end, he was able to recreate these photos using a kind of pointillism.

This isn’t how most people would use a box of crayons, that’s for sure.
