This Couple Took Their Boring Thrift Store Furniture And Made It Beautiful

Don’t ever let anyone tell you you can’t find diamonds in the rough at the thrift store. Even if you have to do a little polishing, the hidden gems of thrift stores are well worth what they cost, which is usually little to nothing.

Despite the common misconception that thrift stores are solely cheap sources for clothing and trinkets, you can actually find some awesome fixer-upper furniture there, too. With a little TLC, the loungers, chairs, and tables can be made just like new, or even better. Here’s a great example of some furniture that started out as dingy – but you won’t recognize the end product!

Normally, you wouldn’t look twice at a chair like this. If you saw it at the thrift store, you’d probably pass right by it. But, one couple gave it a second chance at life.

The chair is actually part of a 1940s dining set with chairs and a table. After buying the bunch at a thrift store, the couple repainted the chairs and table and began work on a custom pattern for the cushions.

The resulting product is a set of beautiful, refurbished chairs. They look like they’re worth a whole lot more than the couple paid.

After all was said and done, the completed set looks like something out of a catalog.

The lesson? Next time you’re at the thrift store, don’t shop with blinders on – you might just find a hidden gem that would be an awesome addition to your home.
