A Couple Converted This 1960s TV Console Into The Coolest Bar Ever

Technology has advanced so much in recent years that most people would see no use for a 1960s analog television, but Val of Pink Flamingo Lounge found inspiration in the old entertainment system. Using Pinterest as their guide, Val and her husband converted a dusty vintage TV console into a retro-cool, light up mini bar.

The finished product looks so awesome, you’d think it was the work of professionals with years of experience under their belt. However, the project is actually quite simple. They were able to achieve this look using only fabric and Christmas lights.

Val and her husband purchased this old TV with the intention of turning it into a mini bar. She credits Pinterest as inspiration for the project.

Antique and thrift stores are filled with old technology, if you’re looking for one to convert for yourself.

The first thing they did was gut the television. “The process was fairly easy, just a lot of dirty work,” Val said. “It was dusty. Layers upon layers of dust!”

After gutting the television, Val lined the TV with fabric. She added a string of Christmas lights to the top of the TV, to give it the inner glow.

The finished product looks absolutely amazing.
