You’ll Never Look At Barbie Dolls The Same Once You See These Paintings.

Almost every girl had a doll when they grew up. The most popular doll was the Barbie doll, of course. Childhood dolls became the inspiration for artist Katlyn Hubner’s series, “Plastic.” These beautiful paintings will definitely make you look at these childhood dolls differently, as Hubner makes them take a turn for more mature audiences.

Hubner is an award-winning artist based in Tacoma, Washington.

Her work is described as “dark, aggressive and sensual.”

Using the dolls allowed Hubner to pose her muses in positions that aren’t humanly possible.

Katlyn’s creative endeavors first began as an art model traveling across North America. She worked with hundreds of photographers as their canvas.

By using the dolls, Hubner could position her subjects in positions she wouldn’t necessarily feel comfortable putting humans in.

She describes the series as “pop art eroticism.”

She began working on the series in 2013.
