When Her Dog Was Napping, This Photographer Pulled Off Something Brilliant

If you ever tried to snap a photo of a canine friend, you know how uncooperative they can be for the camera with all that sniffing and wiggling. It’s adorable to behold, but doesn’t always make for the greatest photos. However, one clever blogger found a way to take hilarious pictures of her dog with no unexpected motion.

Sara Rehnmark started her blog, Raising the Ruf, as a way to share photos of her 3-year-old pharaoh hound, Rufus. Rufus is a deep sleeper. This comes in handy for Rehnmark’s photographic schemes.

Rufus seems pretty good natured even when awake, as other photos on the blog show. His easygoing nature and smiling face (pharaoh hounds actually do smile when they’re happy) make him the perfect subject for a blog. For her part, Rehnmark, who also works as an actress and model, simply thinks her dog is a natural and wants to share him with the world. “I think my dog is hilarious,” she says. “He’s been a goofball ever since he was a puppy.”

Rufus doesn’t seem to mind posing for photos, but he might be glad he was asleep for some of these. You can keep up with Rufus and his humans on their blog to see more of their antics.

An awake Rufus gives Rehnmark a kiss.
