When Closed Captioning Goes Awry, The Results Are Oddly Entertaining.

Closed captioning is a great tool to use for the hearing impaired. It can also be useful in understanding dialogue, plot, and the general tone of a show. However, closed captions sometimes make absolutely no sense and could send a viewer into a confusing existential crisis. The following captions are just plain wrong.

We all know what that is, right?

Yes, that is very not dog like.

We all know what that is.

You shouldn’t have to caption that.

I need to watch this to understand it.

Oh boy…

SO INTENSE!

Take that, baby.

This show deserves awards.

Help! We need an exorcist!

If the shoe fits.

You, sir, are not a cat.

You couldn’t tell from the cat claw.

Why even bother?

Iunno.

This is what nightmares are made of.

As long as it’s just implied, I don’t believe it actually happened.

How does one do that?

I hope it’s not THAT kind.

Glad we understand it.

I hope Amy is making it.

Awww, R2D2!

How about the translations, please?!

Play that funky music, white boy!

How could that get more intense?

Thrash metal is already pretty epic.

I didn’t know it was possibly to sadly go-kart.

What does that sound like?

Does not compute.

Dora, don’t join them!

We’ve all been there before.

The mustache chuckles?

Closed captioning is often great and useful. Other times, it fails everyone. Be on the look out for these instances, because they are quite funny…sometimes more than the program itself.
