Deep below the surface of Siberia lies what could one day save the human race. No, it’s not a giant robot, but a “Noah’s Ark” of food. Preserved by the all-natural freezing temperatures, these 1.5 million seeds can be planted to yield all sorts of fruits and vegetables for survival. Hopefully, we’ll never have to break these seeds out from the freezer, but it’s nice to know that they’re available if a large portion of Earth’s crops are rendered useless.

Underneath this hut is one of the few chances humans have of surviving a doomsday situation.
Future humans could potentially use these seeds to repopulate vegetation on Earth.
The permafrost is thought to be able to preserve the seeds for 100 years.
With over 1.5 million seeds, you have to think that, even in the harshest of climates, some will have to take root.
Oh, good. Some variety. Even in the “End of Days,” you don’t want to eat the same thing all of the time.
I hope no one ever has to use these seeds, but it sure is a good thing that we have them available.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad those seeds are down there, but we couldn’t save any steaks there as well? If anyone deserves a nice rib eye, it’s someone trying to survive on a barren planet.
