Mary Lacy is a Burlington, Vermont-based muralist who can bring anything to life with her penchant for incredibly-colored geometric shapes. For her most recent project, Lacy took the native wildlife of Vermont and brought it inside of an abandoned factory. It’s amazing to see the animals in the murals and what they do to what was once a dull, lifeless waste of space.
A Great Blue Heron in the Moran Plant.
Lacy got the idea for the project after visiting the MURAL Festival in Montreal.
She couldn’t wait to use her art as a way to bring the community together in her local area.
A deer in the woods.
A large fish swimming in a cement sea.
Lacy even brought local plant life into the abandoned plant with her art.
It’s amazing how something can look so abstract, but also so realistic at the same time.
A wise owl watches over their plant.
Frogs frolicking about.
Another shot of the deer, this time with a lot less cover.
A dragonfly takes flight.
From another angle.
Just like in any other ecosystem, not every plant and animal can thrive.
