When is the last time you gave money to a homeless person on the street? If you did, did you happen to notice what they were wearing? A new video from Joseph Costello, an Austin Texas based video maker, shows that we’re more biased towards what homeless people are wearing than we thought.
In the video, Joseph and his friend Sandy (who is homeless), conduct a social experiment. First they have Sandy panhandle as a homeless man. Then they give Sandy a haircut and have him dress in a suit. The difference in how Sandy is treated is startling.

Even a homeless man tried to give him money. This certainly makes you think about your biases toward the homeless or people in need.
