This Town Full Of Secret, Tiny Doors Is A Mystery You’ll Want To Solve.

In the bustling college town of Ann Arbor, Michigan, exists a secret world that very few people are aware of. If you look carefully around town, you’ll notice itty bitty doors placed on the side of buildings. You may not understand them at first, but the more you see? The more you’ll fall in love with the fairy doors of Ann Arbor.

The first tiny door popped up in town in 2005. It was quickly copied and found in buildings, shops, and restaurants.

Why do they exist? Because father and children’s book author, Jonathan B. Wright, installed the whimsical tiny portals in an ode to his children.

He started making similar doors inside his house in 1993 to wow his two daughters. A decade later, he decided to go public, and the first public fairy door appeared outside Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea.

Ten days later, the Peaceable Kingdom door appeared.

Jonathan wrote the children’s book, Who’s Behind the Fairy Doors?, since creating the doors (and having many others pop up in tribute).
