In 1995, the Jackson twins were born prematurely and weighed in at around two pounds each. At three weeks into their lives, it became clear that one of the twins had an incredibly difficult time breathing. She had such a hard time that she turned blue from the lack of oxygen. With things looking like they were heading for the worse, a nurse opted to supplement the treatments given to the twin with the company of her sister. Within minutes of being placed near each other, the stronger twin reached her arm out and embraced her sister. This hug, referred to as “The Rescuing Hug,” helped save her sister’s life.

It seems like the Jackson twins are just as close today as they were in the hospital. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have your love change modern medicine. There’s nothing better than a heartwarming story leading to even more heartwarming stories.
