With popular trends it can be really easy to forget what started them all, or why we are doing them, say like dumping ice cold water all over our heads. But the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that everyone has been joining in on the last week has done wonders for raising awareness to the terrible disease.
Most of us before this viral campaign was created had no idea what it was like to live with ALS or the fear some people live with knowing that it runs in their family and they could be diagnosed with it one day. Which is why this man’s video below is probably the most important ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video to date.
Watch as Anthony shows us a bit more of how it feels to live with ALS every day after he takes the challenge himself, and believe you me, you’re going to want to hear what he has to say. Bring the tissues.

I bet many of you are getting real bored of these Ice Bucket videos by now but here’s the reality, showing a straight PSA about ALS wasn’t resulting in enough change. While the challenge may trivialize the illness to some, it has done more for the cause than anything of late, having raised more than $70 million as of today to the ALS Association. Apart from all the money raised, many have taken the incentive to learn more about the disease.
If you haven’t done so already, you can make a donation to the ALS Association here, and don’t forget to challenge your friends to do the same!
