This Man Turned Scrap Metal Into The Coolest Barbecue Smoker You’ll Ever See

Most people would have no idea what to do with a pile of scrap metal, but Reddit user crackercortex (who also made this amazing DIY pool) turned his scrap metal collection into something phenomenal. Inspired by his son’s love of rocket ships, the father decided to make an amazing rocket barbecue smoker. Check out the amazing project below.

Warning: You might have a craving for ribs afterward.

He started by making a frame from pieces of scrap metal.

He added wheels to the legs.

He found two utility vehicle tanks for the smoker itself.

He started punching holes in the tanks and cut spaces for doors.

Then, he mounted the doors.

Using an engine lift, he positioned the tanks together.

He used an old wheel as an “engine” and more scrap metal for “fins” to make the tank look like a rocket.

This handle is attached to an adjustable smoke vent.

The air intake vent is in the shape of a radiation symbol.

He added a welded cone to the smoker to enhance the rocket look.

The meat sits on these shelves inside the rocket.

Here it is in action.

Here’s the finished product.

This would be amazing to have for parties in the summer. If I had the know-how to make this, I’d definitely copy his idea.
