This Looks Like Food, But Zoom In…It’s Actually So Much More Than That

Any traveler will tell you that one of the best aspects of venturing to new lands is trying the delicious cuisines. Just thinking about can be enough to make you drool. Apparently, photographer Andrea Garcia Portoles and illustrator Bea Crespo think this way, too. The artists teamed up to create a series called Brunchcity, which sees tiny paper cutouts of cities perched atop the foods those cities are best known for. The results are both adorable and mouthwatering.

The pair see this project as a combination of all the things they love: travel, food, illustration, and photography. Crespo created the little cutouts of the cities, selecting iconic buildings that would make them instantly recognizable. The “cities” are arranged on their dishes. Portoles then photographs the finished work.
