There are few things as nice as watching the seasons change through the lens of the great outdoors. The natural beauty of our gorgeous earth really doesn’t need a filter. And in Austria, there’s a park that will literally take your breath away.
From a scenic picnic dwellers dream to a haven for scuba divers, this park has it covered. Depending on what time of the year it is.
In the winter you’ll find crisp, tranquil grasslands and lake that is only about 3 to 6 feet deep.
It’s name is Gruner See, which in English translates to…
Green Sea. Every spring, as the snow and ice melt, the water level dramatically rises.
By summer, it’s a lake about 40 feet deep!
The entire park, benches and all, become submerged under the crystal-clear water from the mountains.

Scuba divers enjoy the underground park the most when the water is at its highest, in June. Now that’s a multi-purpose park. I love it.
