This Little Boy Has An Unusual And Totally Adorable Group Of Vacation Friends.

Marmots are, basically, shy and over-grown squirrels. There are 15 different species of the large ground squirrels, and they mainly live in mountainous regions. They’re perky and sociable with each other, but when it comes to humans, they tend to steer clear.

That is, at least, until they met this young boy. Matteo Walsh and his family stumbled upon a group of the animals while on a family vacation to the Alps, and instant friendship was struck.

When the alpine marmots see Matteo, they rush to greet him instead of batting their tails on the ground like they would do to scare off other humans.

After discovering the connection when he was only 4 years old, his family began making yearly trips so he could visit his furry friends.

Marmots reach about 18cm tall and can weigh up to 17 lbs in the autumn.

For over four years now, the adorable friendship has only grown.

They spend time together at the marmot’s home in Hohe Tauern National Park in Austria.

The marmots allow Matteo to feed and play with them like he was one of the pack.

Matteo’s mother explains, “He loves those animals and they are not at all afraid of Matteo because he has a feeling towards them and they understand that.”

She has been capturing their adorable friendship over the years with her camera.

Matteo says he could “spend hours” with the marmots and clearly enjoys the time they do get to spend together.

Why hasn’t Disney made a movie about this yet??

Seriously, who do I talk to at Disney about making this movie happen?

These animals can sense Matteo’s loving nature, and they respond in kindness. Maybe we should learn a thing or two from this little boy and his furry friends.
