Few artists can tie a room together quite like Baku Maeda‘s work. The artist, residing in Sapporo, Japan, creates seemingly anything he desires. In his Ribbonesia series, Maeda uses only the silkiest ribbons to make his pieces. They range in size and simplicity, from a large unicorn to the tiniest seal. You’ll be blown away by their beauty and seemingly effortless elegance.
Few installments look quite as “at home” in a luxury department store as Maeda’s work in Fantasia, which he did for Lane Crawford. It’s not just beauty Maeda is after; he also has a great sense of humor that shines through in some pieces.

These are spectacular to look at. It’s pretty mind-boggling how these are made from ribbon (and only ribbon). For more of Baku Maeda’s work, check out the Ribbonesia website, his personal website, and his blog.
