This Guy Turned A Regular Washing Machine Into An Awesome Fish Tank

What do you do with a washing machine that’s broken down and is too old or not worth fixing? If your answer is “throw it away,” your answer is definitely wrong.

You turn that thing into a fish tank.

One man who works at a used appliance store decided to take an old washing machine and turn it into an epic fish tank. As you can probably guess, it was a pretty involved process. The whole thing had to be taken apart, put back together, and reworked so that it would be safe and hospitable for its fishy inhabitants. While this definitely isn’t the simplest DIY fish tank I’ve ever seen, it’s definitely one of the coolest.

He began by taking apart the washing machine, cleaning it thoroughly. Any harsh detergents left behind would be very bad for the fish.

Here’s the shell of the washing machine before all of the old and new parts were installed.

As you can see, he made sure the washing machine fish tank had all of the necessary parts to ensure a healthy environment for the fish.

He also had to install a new front window on the washing machine. He didn’t want anyone to be able to just walk up and open the fish tank like a washing machine. That would be bad.

Besides the basic necessities for your average fish tank, he also installed LED lights in the inner tub of the washing machine.

Here you can see the range of colors that the LED lights show, giving the inside of the fish tank an awesome look.

And here’s the final product: a regular washing machine on the outside, and an awesome fish tank on the inside.

I don’t know about you, but from now on, every time I do laundry I’m going to wish the washing machine was a fish tank instead. It’s just so much cooler!
