This Guy Takes Thrift Store Paintings And Makes Them New With His Unique Touch

Some of the best craft projects are those that involve repurposing, recycling, or building upon old objects. Seeing something tired turned into something new is thrilling. But, it takes some serious talent and creativity to see the potential and then pull off one of these projects.

David Irvine has a knack for uncovering the possibility in items and making them new and exciting once again. He recently released a series called “Re-Directed Art.” He took old, boring thrift store artwork and made it into fun, interesting paintings. He “re-directs” the paintings in the sense that with his additions, he changes the focus, theme, or narrative. He uses something already imagined as his canvas to create something new.
