How do you recognize your favorite beer or soda from the rest of the beverage options out there? The most likely answer is their unique logo, label, and bottle cap. A lot of work from designers, illustrators, and marketing executives goes into these little details, and yet we just throw them in the trash! Instead of throwing away the colorfully designed beer caps after enjoying a cold one, Reddit user Komicman saved up 2,791 bottle caps to make a patterned table. The results are an amazing, one of a kind creation. Check out his work below and see how he made it.
He started by making a frame for the table out of six 2×4 pieces of wood. The table is eight feet long and four feet wide.
He then used a thin piece of plywood for the surface.
Before adding the bottle caps, he stained the table.
He then laid out the design for the table.
The bottle caps are arranged in a decorative pattern by color.
He added his school’s logo, the Ohio Northern University polar bears, to the middle of the table.
He glued the caps down using Liquid Nails. To finish, he sealed the edges in bathroom caulk and covered the surface in clear resin (the caulk prevented any spillage).
The pattern makes for an easy beer pong setup.
