Are you a “do it yourself” kind of person who wants a way to relax after a long day of working on your various projects? Then have I got a project for you.
A father and son recently completed an awesome project that shows you how working hard to take it easy is the best way to do things. They decided they weren’t going to go and buy some cheap hammock at the store – they were going to build it themselves.
This would be a detailed undertaking, requiring time and careful precision.
Using their collective knowledge of woodworking, this father and son began putting together the foundation of the hammock, attaching multiple pieces of wood using biscuit joints and wood glue.
They then began shaping the base of the hammock to their specifications – this is a careful process of creating the proper angles in the wood so that the hammock will hang and be supported properly.
These first few steps took some time, but it was only the beginning.
Finally, it was time to begin building the structure that would support the hammock.
Because of how the different joints would bear the weight of the hammock, metal supports had to be placed in various locations on the structure.
What better way to test how well your hammock frame holds weight than to strike a pose on it?
But the best way, of course, is to hook up the hammock and lay down. It looks like this project turned out alright.

There’s nothing like a good nap in a hammock, especially when you put in the time and effort to make it.
