Saying you got through a situation “by the skin of our teeth” usually means you overcame something that was particularly difficult. No teeth actually tend to be involved, but for this dog trapped in a well the phrase takes a more literal turn.
The poor pup was stuck at the bottom of a well when these men found her. Her cries for help are absolutely heartbreaking as they attempt to retrieve her with rope. Luckily, after several close calls, all does end well (we promise!). It’s a good thing she has a healthy set of chompers.

Who knows how long she had been down there or how she got there before her heroes showed up, but thank goodness they did. We hope she finds her way home or to a safe haven!
