These People Kept A Giant Alligator In Their Yard, But That’s Not The Worst Part

This week, residents in a Los Angeles suburb discovered something extremely disturbing about a long time neighbor. Animal services were called to remove an 8-foot alligator that had been living illegally in a person’s backyard for the last 40 years. But that’s not even the worst part…

When officials came to take the alligator away, they found the bodies of two dead cats in the same area where the gator had been living. This led them to suspect that the owners may have been feeding Jaxon (the alligator) neighborhood cats.

This is Jaxon, the alligator recovered by Los Angeles Animal Services. They received an anonymous tip about the gator, which had been owned illegally without a permit for the last 40 years. After obtaining a warrant, officials searched the property and turned up Jaxon.

After discovering the bodies of two dead cats near where Jaxon was kept, officials are urging local residents who have lost any pets in recent year to contact them.

However, Jaxon’s owners maintain that she would never hurt a fly. They say they fed her only chicken and hot dogs.

While the investigation into Jaxon’s diet is ongoing, she has been taken to the Los Angeles Zoo.

I’ve had some bad neighbors in the past, but never anything like this. I feel for the folks who live in that neighborhood.
