These Amazing 3D Sculptures Are Made From One Simple Office Supply Item

It’s truly amazing what artist Peter Callesen can do with one sheet of plain white paper. His 3D sculptures are made of just paper and glue, but contain scenes and stories everyone can understand. Based in Denmark, Callesen forms each sheet into extremely detailed works of art that remain attached to the original source despite manipulation. Check out his beautiful works below.

This hummingbird sculpture seems to defy gravity.

In this piece, Callesen uses the leftover white paper as the skeleton’s “paint.”

The image of these tiny people running from a massive fire inspires fear, even if it is just paper.

Someone has a lot of skeletons in their closet…

I can only imagine how long it must take to cut out such small details.

These sculptures really make me think about how much paper I use, then throw away or recycle every day. Where most people see something basic for writing or printing, Callesen sees a unique new art project. You can see all of Peter Callesen’s artwork on his website.
