18-year-old Kayla Montgomery is one of the fastest long-distance runners in the country. However, at the end of every race, something terrifying happens: Kayla collapses into her coach’s arms, crying for help and unable to feel her legs. This is because Kayla has Multiple Sclerosis, a degenerative disease damaging nerve endings and disrupting communication between the body and the brain.
Though she is unable to feel her legs and her body overheats, Kayla refuses to let MS crush her high-flying athletics career.
