The Fairfax County Animal Shelter in Northern Virginia had a really unique idea this Christmas. The shelter workers dressed up as Santa’s elves and delivered shelter animals in person to their new, loving homes during the holidays. Watch as two lucky kids are overwhelmed with joy when they are surprised with a shelter puppy picked out by their parents.

Kristen Auerbach, the community outreach program manager for the shelter, said the inspiration came from the idea of being a child and having magical holiday elves show up at your door with a dog or cat. They knew they had the opportunity to create memories that would last a lifetime for everyone involved. Most importantly, they are able to get the animals to loving homes.
What a great idea. I hope it leads to more adoptions for these shelter babies!
