The newest resident at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium is this adorable orphaned southern sea otter pup.
The abandoned sea otter is getting a second chance at life after it was found stranded on a southern California beach. When found, it weighed less than two pounds. The nearby Monterey Bay Aquarium took care of her for nearly a month before handing her over to professionals in Illinois.

Otters are awesome. They get to float around all day, bask in the sun, and eat fresh seafood. They also get to be cute and admired by everyone around them. That’s a pretty sweet life.
