One Day, This Boy Woke Up With Super Powers Straight Out Of A Comic Book

Waking up and discovering you have superpowers is a dream that children (and some adults) across the globe have. That’s why superhero comics, books and movies are so popular. Many kids want to be the heroes or villains in stories like like Marvel’s The Avengers or The X-Men.

One thing that’s fairly common in superhero origin stories is the horrible accident that happens that gives the hero their super powers. Usually, it’s an accident or some kind of scientific anomaly…and that’s exactly what happened to this little boy.

Nikolai Kryaglyachenko, 12, was walking home after school when he leaned against a lamppost. Because of a faulty wire, the post was electrified. It shocked Nikolai, physically blasting him back across the pavement.

Thankfully, he survived. The next day, Nikolai found that when he woke up, he could attract metals. When he looked down in his bed, he saw that coins and other metals were attached to his body. The electrocution he endured had turned his body into a living magnet.

He can now attract metals and he even claims to have attracted a glass toward him at one point (however, he is a kid, so let’s take that one with a grain of salt).

Hopefully, young Nikolai uses his powers for good and not evil. Also, hopefully this magnetism wears off in the future. Young kids can be pretty ruthless, and this is how mean nicknames like Spoon Boy get started.
