Climbing trees is a part of childhood I’ll always miss. It was difficult, and sometimes dangerous, but it was always fun. There was one tree I always loved climbing. No matter how many different times or ways I would climb it, it never got old or boring.
A redditor called crazy_plant_lady, had to say goodbye to her childhood climbing tree. Her father, who is legally blind, wanted to make something special for her using wood from the tree. So, they put their heads together, planned and executed this awesome project.
This father wanted to do something special for his daughter after her favorite climbing tree from childhood had to be cut down.
Using a section cut from the tree, this father and daughter began work on making a coffee table.
Here they are, working on sanding the piece of wood. Because he is legally blind, the father has to use his hands to measure the progress of their work.
Once sanded, the beautiful detail and rings of the wood really start to show.
Using epoxy resin and some crushed turquoise inlay, they added a little bit of color to the soon-to-be coffee table.
Once the resin was sanded down, the beautiful shine that it gives the table was revealed.
The father then got to work on the last part of the project – the table’s legs.
Here’s his daughter doing her part in the last steps of putting the table together.
The finished project – a wonderful reminder of childhood, as well as a great project completed by a father and daughter.

I hope my childhood climbing tree is still standing…or at least converted into an epic coffee table by now.
