Instead Of Throwing Out Old Wood Pallets, This Guy Turned Them Into A Loft Bed

Some of the coolest DIY projects you come across involve taking things that most people would consider useless or trash and turning them into useful, incredible items that become necessary in our day-to-day lives.

One man decided that he was going to take a bunch of old wood pallets and turn them into a custom-made loft bed for his room. After you see this, you’ll probably want one of your own.

A modest beginning…

Because of the coarseness of the wood, each piece had to be sanded down and refinished for their new intended use.

The bed frame begins to come together.

I’m not sure I’d trust myself enough to build something sturdy enough that I wouldn’t fall straight through.

Then it was time to build the actual loft section of the bed frame. This also took some knowledge of weight distribution and the possible stresses on the sides.

Finally, it was time to build the headboard. Still using the same wood pallets, he took to crafting a design.

The finished headboard turned out really well.

He stained the bed with a slightly darker tint than the wood, giving the frame an aged look.

Here’s a wider shot of the bed in the bedroom – it certainly allows for more storage space, and its design really adds something unique to the room.

This is an easy way to save some cash and get that new bed you’ve been wanting. A loft bed is a great way to maximize a small space – and there’s something fun about climbing into bed and having a nice view of your entire room. What do you think?
