Every once in a while, something dark happens on a road that changes it forever. These roads are especially dark and sinister, so avoid travelling on them at all costs.
Even if you don’t believe in ghosts, curses or hauntings, it’s probably a good idea to turn around if you ever find yourself on one of these paths…
1.) A75 Kinmont Straight, Scotland
Reports of apparition sightings here are so frequent that the road is nicknamed “Ghost Road.” In 1957, a truck driver saw a couple walking in front of his truck and he thought he hit them, but he never found a trace.
2.) A229 from Sussex to Kent
A woman in a white dress watches over this haunted road in England. Many drivers confirmed seeing her walking in front of their car. While drivers slam on the breaks to avoid hitting her, they seem to ram into her, get out of their cars, and inspect the damage, only to find nothing.
3.) Kelly Road, Pennsylvania
A rich forest surrounds this road, where people can hear and see things that have little to no explanation. Many assume the haunting is due to cult activity that took place near the road.
4.) Stocksbridge Bypass, England
A monk haunted this particular bypass. Several people reported seeing the monk, and a police investigation came back with no results on the reports. The monk reportedly stands on the side of the road and watches drivers pass. Some have said that the monk will appear in their car, which is definitely scarier.
5.) Tuen Mun Road, Hong Kong
This road wasn’t redesigned for modern cars or traffic patterns, which makes it dangerous. Ghosts also supposedly appear in the middle of the road, causing drivers to swerve and get into accidents.
6.) M6 Motorway, England
The longest road in England is bound to have its share of hauntings. Motorists report seeing strange things like Romans marching, haunted hitch hikers, and a driver-less pickup truck.
7.) Highway 666, Utah
It’s bad news whenever the number 666 appears. In fact, this highway was renamed to avoid any kind of satanic bad luck it could give off. Drivers reported all kinds of paranormal activities on this road, including driver-less cars, ghosts in cars, and ghost hitchhikers.
8.) Dead Man’s Curve, Ohio
With a name like Dead Man’s Curve, this road just HAS to be haunted. The curve is a dangerous turning intersection in Clermont County. According to the most common reports, it is where 222 meets State Rout 125. The road was part of the Ohio Turnpike built in 1831. People said there is a faceless hitchhiker appearing on this road just to spook drivers and passengers.
9.) Clinton Road, NJ
This road is rumored to be haunted and confirmed to be unsavory. Rumor has it that, if you throw pennies off the bridge, the ghost of a little boy will throw them back at you. While that is creepy enough, it is also the meeting place for many Satan worshipers and members of the KKK. Haunted or not, you shouldn’t be on this road.
It’s a good thing I don’t get out of the city much. I don’t want to be anywhere near these places. Though come to think of it, the dimly lit block near my apartment seems a bit ghastly…
