Some people feel the need to throw out old furniture. Maybe they think it’s too old, or too ugly, and they believe that the only thing they can do is throw it away. But if there’s one thing we can learn from the DIY ethic, it’s that nothing should go to waste, even if it takes some work to save.
And that’s what one guy did when he bought this old coffee table at a flea market. The thing had seen better days and definitely wasn’t something you’d want to display in your living room. Check out how he turned the beat-up table into an awesome new ottoman.

The first step was to cut off the edges of the tabletop to meet the proper specifications of the ottoman.

Then they began to measure out exactly where the buttons of the ottoman would be placed.

After all that measuring and planning, then it was finally time to drill the button holes.

Multiple layers of foam were covered with batting and attached to the ottoman. Then, it was time for the upholstery.

After choosing a soft fabric that looks like leather, it was time to install the buttons.

For an extra touch, a tack trim lined the edges of the ottoman.

It’s really great to see something that would’ve probably been thrown away by someone else turned into a great statement furniture piece. Frankly, I’d rather have a comfy ottoman than a coffee table any day.
