Even Kids Are Capable Of Terrible Things. These 6 Kids Need To Be Locked Away.

Most people know children can be mischievous and will misbehave from time to time. But most people wouldn’t expect a child to be capable of anything close to actual evil. Sadly, that’s not always the case. Children are just as capable as adults when it comes to heinous acts like murder. Even if it was a result of a bad upbringing, once kids mature past the age of reason, they can take things into their own hands. If you don’t believe me then just take a look at these six children who committed brutal murders.

Warning: #4 is disturbing, to say the least.

1.) Christopher Pittman.

Pittman was just 12-years-old in 2001 when he killed his grandparents in their sleep with his grandfather’s shotgun. This was hardly the first troubling thing about Pittman’s young life. He was sent to live with them after running away from home and threatening suicide.

The case made national headlines not only because of Pittman’s age, but because of his defense that it was the prescription anti-depressant Zoloft that caused him to kill his grandparents. Pittman is currently serving a 25-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter.

2.) Dedrick Owens.

Ownes holds the sad title of being the youngest school shooter ever. In 2000, when he was 6-years-old Ownes brought a handgun to school and killed a classmate in front 22 other students. Turns out that Ownes found the handgun in his uncle’s house. While Ownes was never charged for the crime, his uncle and two others were sentenced for involuntary manslaughter.

3.) Jesse Pomeroy.

In 1874 Boston Jesse Pomery was a troubled child who murdered two fellow children. The first was a 10-year-old girl who came into his mother’s shop. The other, and the crime he is known for, was the violent murder of a 4-year-old child named Horace Mullen.

According to police reports from the time, Pomeroy attacked Mullen with a knife, and nearly severed his head. When confronted about the murders and asked if he did it, Pomery simply said “I suppose I did.” Chilling.

4.) Girl A.

Because of privacy laws, Girl A was the nickname given to an 11-year-old girl from Sasebo, Japan who murdered a fellow classmate in 2004. On the day of the murder, the teacher noticed that two girls were missing from class. A little while later one of the girls returned covered in blood.

After a frantic search school officials found the body of the murdered girl. Her throat had been slit with a box cutter. Girl A confessed to the murder, saying that the two had been arguing online.

5.) Jamarion Lawhorn.

Earlier this year 12-year-old Lawhorn was playing at a public playground with 9-year-old Michael Verherke. Suddenly, without warning, Lawhorn stabbed Verherke in the back. The two had never met before.

With an erie calm Lawhorn then borrowed a cell phone and called the police to report what he had done. He told police “Hi. I just stabbed somebody. I want to die. I don’t want to be on this earth anymore. Please pick me up.”

6.) Mary Bell.

In England in 1968, 10-year-old Mary Bell was responsible for the deaths of two young children, 4-year-old Martin Brown, and 3-year-old Brain Howe. First, Bell strangled Brown. Police had a hard time tracking this murder to Bell because her hands weren’t big enough to leave marks typically associated with a strangulation murder.

However Bell was caught after she killed Howe, and then confessed to both murders. Bell brought Howe to an old industrial site where she killed and then mutilated him with a pair of broken scissors. The most disturbing part of the murder was that she carved an “M” into Howe’s stomach after she killed him.

Bell spent time in prison for her crimes, but was freed in 1980. She has been living in England under an anonymity order ever since.

The acts of these children could have been a result of a disturbed upbringing, a chemical imbalance or a mental disorder. Although it wasn’t their fault that they had such violent tendencies, it’s hard to grasp the gravity of what these kids did…
