The Beatles are indisputably the one of the most popular bands in history. Because of that fame, there’s bound to be some fans out there with unconventional interpretations of their music. Then there are some people whose obsession with The Beatles has turned to conspiracy theories, and weird ones at that.
For example one website, thebeatlesneverexisted.com firmly believes that the game changing pop band (as presented to us) never existed. To prove that this isn’t a mere joke, the site explains, “This is a serious subject, not a joke.”
It then goes on to suggest that The Beatles are a “series of multiples,” and never were the same four boys from Liverpool we know and love. At the moment the site mainly focuses on the discrepancies of Paul’s look over the years, but it assures us that more will be “coming soon!”
The authors of the site have pointed out that based on pictures from 1963, Paul had three different heights that year. Therefore there must be three different Pauls. One is the real Paul of course and the other two must be shorter Paul clones.
McCartney’s height in 1964. Can you spot the difference?
In this photo, the website would like to point out that the girls in this picture are not wearing heels, but McCartney is. Clearly he must be a clone.
Apparently in starting in 1966 Paul would sit down a lot during concerts. “Is it to hide the fact that he’s shorter than he was the year before?” the site asks, hopefully. Maybe he’s just tired?
They then invite you to focus on the slight differences in Paul McCartney’s eyebrows from 1961-1963. Known for his swooped right eyebrow, the site maintains, sometimes Paul’s swoop isn’t very noticeable at all. He must be a Frankenstein Beatle.
1964. Whoa, I don’t see a swoop, do you? Just a swoon worthy brow.
Maybe Paul was just updating his look to that of the shaggier late 60’s? Or maybe this is actually the clone that Paul uses to harvest fresh organs? It would make sense, because he looks pretty good for his age these days.
My favorite theory is that sometimes the Beatles have ears that vary in shape, size and placement on the head from picture to picture. Are those fake ears in this picture? Or maybe it’s just that sometimes ears inherently look weird? Nah.
Another theory speculates that a different Paul must have taken over after 1966. The evidence for this is during an interview in Los Angeles, the normally left handed Paul can be seen smoking with right hand. Conspiracy?
Finally, there’s the teeth situation. Paul especially has gone through many different sets of pearly whites over the years. While this could just be due to different eating or drug habits, the site suggests an army of multiples. And in fact, there is no real Paul McCartney.
Obviously The Beatles are probably the most photographed band on Earth so it would make sense that sometimes they look different in some pictures. But whether this conspiracy is true or not (it’s not), it’s still an interesting little idea.
Imagine how fun it would be to see a room full of the John Lennons and Paul McCartneys from all the various incarnations of the Beatles? Young John Lennon, bearded John Lennon, Paul McCartney on acid, Ringo Starr’s weird Twitter account? ALL THE BEATLES!
