A few months ago, we shared a video of a rather dramatic rescue of an injured goose causing havoc on the U.K.’s busiest motorway. The goose’s future looked bleak since the bones in his right wing were completely shattered and broken in several places. The fracture in his wing was so bad that any surgery was out of the question. To help the poor creature, the good people from the Wildlife Aid Foundation put a bandage on him in the hopes that a callus would form and mend the wing. All they could do was hope he would fly again, but they doubted it.
The goose turned out to be a fighter. After a few weeks, his wing healed enough to allow for his release on a lovely lake.

The goose now happily lives with other geese on a bird-lover’s private lake. The best news is that he can fly again. What a great outcome for a bird that could have ended up under a car.
