Whittier is a sleepy little town on the west side of the Prince William Sound in Alaska. The picturesque town is tucked between stunning mountains, but if you’re picturing a typical town with a small huddle of houses, think again.
On the edge of town stands a 14-story former Army barracks called Begich Towers. The barracks were turned into a condo building that, if anything, resembles an aging hotel more than anything else. The amazing thing about this building is that it’s where nearly all of the town’s 200 residents live and work.
