Canadian low-cost airline WestJet knows the right way to celebrate Christmas. The carrier made headlines last year when it surprised its passengers with gifts at the baggage carousel. Now the airline will make us all start sniffling again after surprising residents of a village in the Dominican Republic with Christmas cheer.
It all started when local residents were surprised by the sight of a blue sleigh in the town center. The sleigh included a video screen where people could talk to Santa Claus, clad in a blue outfit. Santa started by asking the sleigh’s visitors for their Christmas wishes. The next day, the town’s residents were invited to a beach party featuring fake snow drifts. That’s when residents were surprised to learn that the gifts they asked Santa for were there waiting for them.

What a fantastic way to bring some much needed joy into their lives. This also is a beautiful way to remind us all that it’s better to give than to receive.
