A Man Becomes A Mannequin While Waiting For His Wife To Shop

The age-old stereotype of a man languishing while his wife or girlfriend shops is nothing new. Somehow, Steve Venegas found a way to turn shopping with his wife into something hilarious. While waiting for her to try on clothes at the Gap, Steve noticed that he was about the same size and build as the male mannequins. He then got an idea.

Thus, The Gap Mannequin Project was born. The idea is simple. Venegas picks out a mannequin and recreates its outfit entirely. Unlike the mannequins, Venegas has a head, so he can also accessorize a bit with a hat or glasses. Finally, he assumes the same position as the mannequin, and his wife snaps a picture (yes, she’s in on the fun, too).

The couple says this whole thing started as just a funny activity they would share with friends. Now, the practice is a full blog and gained quite an audience. Seeing as how they’re getting a bit of advertising from all this, we’re sure the Gap doesn’t mind, either.
