What An Artist Did To These 20 Objects Will Make You Do A Double-Take. It’s So Cool.

Being tricked doesn’t always have to be a bad thing. In fact, sometimes it can be downright delightful. French artist Gilbert Legrand tries to fool people with his art in the most adorable way (and he succeeds). Gilbert transforms the mundane into something awesome by just applying a few coats of acrylic paint. He takes normal objects, like tools and household items, and changes them entirely with the little details he adds. It’s impressive how easily his pieces can trick your mind. See for yourself:

He turns scissors into lovers.

And door hinges into shady men in trench coats.

This rat used to be a spray bottle.

And this girl a faucet.

Ping pong paddle wants to play ping pong (so meta).

And that’s not an athlete, it’s a pair of pliers.

A funnel has never looked so thoughtful.

This brush was made to be painted into a stern chief.

Now, zippers will always look like little faces.

Poor little fox/brush!

All servers should have cork screws painted like this.

Don’t mess with this angry duck, he’s actually a hatchet.

This mouse will hang your pants for you.

Oops, give this faucet some privacy.

Nice hair, dude.

This silly saw dog is my favorite.

But this gang of ruler men isn’t bad, either.

Brush lions are precious.

Who knew saws could be so sultry?

I see you over there, shifty fox!

(H/T Bored Panda) This artist’s imagination is almost inspiring as his finished works. Instead of just seeing mundane items like you or I would, he sees an adorable world that’s just waiting to be animated. It’s hard not to fall in love with these.
