What This Photographer Did Is Stupidly Dangerous, But The Results Are Amazing.

Iceland based photographer Iurie Belegurschi has just done something amazing. Right now, there is an eruption in progress at the Bárðarbunga volcano in the Holuhraun lava field in Iceland.

Instead of staying away from the eruption (very far away), Belegurschi chartered a helicopter and to get up close and personal with the volcano. By which of course I mean, snap some amazing photos.

For the full effect Belegurschi says he and his team even took the doors off helicopter so that they could properly feel the heat from the volcano. It might have been worth the risk though, because these photos are amazing. Just check them out.

Most people would want to stay far away from this.

But not Iurie Belegurschi.

He likes getting hot new photos.

He and his crew got so close to the eruption, he could feel the heat of the lava.

NO, THANKS.

Makes me think of that severely underrated movie, Volcano with Tommy Lee Jones from 1997. For more amazing photography of Iceland from Iurie Belegurschi check out his website, and like him on Facebook
