“Holy smoking toledos!”
58-year-old Australian Phil McNamara was aboard a small boat on August 29th during a trip near Mount Tavurvur, a volcano located off the coast of Papua New Guinea. He was lucky to capture this spectacular footage of the volcano erupting.
The video shows a plume of ash thrown in the air from Mount Tavurvur. What follows are impressive rippling clouds and an eardrum-rattling explosion that rocked the boat.

It’s amazing to see the effect of the waves through the clouds. That bang was also incredibly eerie. This just shows how powerful mother nature really is.
