Want To Spice Up Your Life? Check Out This Illegal Street Food Market In Berlin.

Cravings. Everyone gets them. Sometimes, we want a particular kind of food so badly, we will search high and low to get it. It’s just in our “OMG I NEED IT” nature.

A journalist named Ryan Kailath was recently traveling in Berlin and in search of spicy Asian food, but the restaurants he visited just weren’t delivering. Kailath did some exploring and found a rather special place that provided exactly what he wanted. It was called “Thai Park” by those in the know. It’s a Thai food market by day…and an over-sized picnic any time the cops are around.

Thai Park is a special, secret location where Berliners looking for authentic (and spicy) Asian food know they will not be disappointed.

“Thai Park” is a street food market selling Asian food that you can’t find at other places in the area.

There’s one catch: this food market is totally illegal. (Food? Illegal? Blasphemy.)

Customers and merchants have to be careful when authorities are close by due to regulations. They are sure not to make any obvious exchanges of money, and when questioned by police, they respond that they are all have a “picnic” together.

That’s right. When the cops stroll by, they drop their money and 100+ people pretend to have a giant picnic.

I don’t know if it’s the possibility of delicious spicy Asian food, or the outside-the-law aspect of it, but this food market sounds absolutely awesome!
